The Congress of Mexico City approved a ruling that prohibits the marketing, distribution and delivery of products with single-use plastics, which will begin to apply from December 2020 for bags.
The reform to the Solid Waste Law, which was approved with 51 votes in favor, zero against and one abstention, contemplates that from January 1, 2021, the marketing, distribution and delivery of forks, knives, spoons will also be prohibited. , mixing sticks, plates, straws, cotton swab sticks, balloons and balloon sticks, cups and their lids, food transport trays, coffee capsules and tampon applicators that are made entirely or partially of plastic.
